what to expect

THE SETTING: A living-room.  Real Church is a home-church ministry.

THE ATMOSPHERE: Real people living real life, seeking real relationships as the body of Christ, while worshiping a very real God. (We feel like the home-church model best helps this to happen.

THE GOAL: In our understanding of the reason the Church exists (to worship God, edify the saints and reach the lost), we seek to know the Word of God deeply, while seeking the Holy Spirit’s guidance daily.  Both God’s Word and the leading of His Spirit are necessary to help us navigate our personal walk with God and with others.

  • His Word is the only Truth, and it is eternal- John 17:17, Psalm 119;160, Mark 13:31
  • His Word guides our way in this life and gives us purpose-Psalm 119:105, Ephesians 2:10
  • We are to worship in spirit and truth- John 4:23-24
  • We are to worship with our whole heart and in a congregation-Psalm 111:1
  • We are to worship God because He is worthy and His Name and Word are above all other authorities-138:2.
  • Our whole life is to be a life of worship to Him- Romans 12:1
  • The basis for our love is God’s love for us first because God IS love through Him sending Jesus to die for us. Because of Jesus’ love through His sacrifice on the cross for us, we are to love one another as He has loved us.- John 4:7-11
  • We are to love one another by our actions based on His Word, which gives us the instructions on what love looks like- 1st John 3:16-18
  • We are to do good to those who know God through salvation and to those who don’t.- Galatians 6:10
  • Love is the goal in Biblical instruction- 1st Timothy 1:5

OUR BELIEF'S

God’s Inseparable, Everlasting Love – Romans 8:32-39

God’s Word – As infallible, eternal, and alive; it has the ability to change us. It is our guide-book for life. 2nd Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 4:12, Mark 13:31

The Trinity – God exists as 3 unique persons in one God-head.  All three of those person’s are apart of salvation in a believer and the ongoing process of growing closer to God in every believer. Matthew 3:16-17, John 14:16-17, Galatians 5:22-24, Hebrews 7:24-25

Creation by God – God created everything as God was before all things.  All things exist to bring Him glory.  Genesis 1:1-2:23, Colossians 1:15-17, Psalm 148:1-12, Psalm 19:1-3, Revelation 4:11, Isaiah 45:12

Sin and its Consequences – Through Adam and Eve’s sin in the garden of eden, all of mankind was cursed with sin.  We deserve death for our sin, and eternal separation from God.  Genesis 3, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23

Salvation Alone by Grace Through Faith – Even though sin entered the world and infected all people and all of God’s creation, God made a way for us to be with Him forever!  We receive God’s gracious gift of salvation by our faith in Jesus, and through the work of His Spirit saving us.  Romans 5:5b-11, Romans 8:9-11, Ephesians 2:8-9

Empowerment by the Holy Spirit – As Christians we are to bear spiritual fruits and gifts that are to be rooted in love, in service to God, and for the encouragement and advancement of His church on the earth until He comes.  1st Corinthians 12, 13, 14, Ephesians 4:11-16, Romans 12:6-8

Evangelism and Discipleship – The world is God’s mission field. We are to advance God’s Kingdom by proclaiming the Gospel, and teaching other’s to follow Christ in all facets of life. Matthew 28:18-20

Water Baptism – All believer’s are to seek water baptism as an outward sign of inward faith in Jesus.  The dipping down into water represents death to sin, and death to our old life.  The rising up out of the water symbolizes new, spiritual life in Christ as He is the one who has risen from the dead and has given us opportunity to be eternally, spiritually alive in Him and with Him forever.  Matthew 28:19, Matthew 3:13, Acts 8:35-38, Acts 10:47-48

Leadership in the Church – The Bible lists specific positions in the church and the importance of leadership in God’s church. Pastor/Elder, Elders, Deacons-1st Timothy 3:1-13, Titus 1:5-9

Jesus is Coming Again – Jesus’ return will usher in the end of this age where believers will go to Heaven, unbelievers to Hell and justice will be carried out by God on the earth. Revelation 1:8, Revelation 22:12, 20, Matthew 24:29-31,36-51, Matthew 25:31-46, Luke 21:25-31

“Real Church is about living out what we believe through the message of God's Word. There is nothing more important today than the church doing what God has called it to do from the beginning.”

GROW TOGETHER

We believe that a healthy church exists when the people are united in mission and vision. We also believe the church is a place of community growth, no matter where you meet. As we continue to build relationsihps in this community, we will be looking to start other “home churches” in the Fargo metro area. If this is something you are interested in, or if you simply want a more deeper understanding of our mission and vision, we want to connect with you!
